We’re excited to present the Oakes Performance Solutions, in collaboration with Custom Code, for the 3.2 FSI V6 engine ECU and ZF TCU, compatible with numerous Audi models. These tune sets are one of our four distinct offerings based on our benchmark 2008 Audi A5 and 2009 Audi Q5 shop cars.

Performance Enhancements:

Stage 2 ECU + TCU tune:

• 1.4 to 1.8 seconds quicker 0-60 mph times than stock.
• 1 to 1.4 seconds quicker 1/4 mile times with 6-10 more mph trap speed than stock
• Gains of 20 more peak horsepower and 25 more peak ft-lbs of torque than stock.
• +65 ft-lbs of torque area under the curve from 2,000-4,000rpms.
• Takes advantage of aftermarket exhaust, intakes, and other hardware.
• Recalibrates the transmission for the massive low end torque increase!

Stage 1 ECU + TCU tune:

• 1 to 1.5 seconds quicker 0-60 mph times than stock.
• 0.6 to 1 seconds quicker 1/4 mile times with 3-6 more mph trap speed than stock.
• Gains of 15 more horsepower and 20 more ft-lbs of torque thank stock.
• +50 ft-lbs of torque area under the curve from 2,000-4,000rpms.
• Recalibrates the transmission for the massive low end torque increase!

Stage 1 ECU tune:

• 0.8 to 1.3 seconds quicker 0-60 mph times than stock.
• 0.5 to 1 second quicker 1/4 mile times with 3-6 more mph trap speed than stock.
• Gains of 15 more horsepower and 20 more ft-lbs of torque thank stock.
• +50 ft-lbs of torque area under the curve from 2,000-4,000rpms.
• Massive low end torque increase!
• Ideal for manual transmission cars.

TCU tune:

• Enjoy noticeable improvements in shift times, with smoother and quicker gear changes.
• Factory shift hang-ups, particularly the 2-3 gear shift, are eliminated, and clunky factory downshifts are corrected.
• Experience smoother shifts in Drive mode, and optimal acceleration in Sport mode, as the gear shifting points have been finely adjusted.
• We’ve engineered the tune to hold lower gears for longer during cold starts, ensuring efficient engine warming.
• The tune also keeps the transmission fluid cooler, prolonging transmission life, and it recalibrates or removes torque limitations for superior acceleration.

Our ECU tunes for these 3.2 FSI V6 engines are available in two stages to cater to our customers’ varying needs. The TCU tune is required for the Stage 2 ECU tune due to the increased stress on components and the need to modify or remove torque limitations for optimal performance. However, it is also a fantastic upgrade to accompany the Stage 1 ECU tune.

Case Study: 2008 Audi A5 3.2 FSI V6 Shop Car

Here’s a real-world example showcasing the performance enhancements achieved with our Stage 1 ECU tune, according to Dragy testing:

• Stock (with over 176K miles): 7.00 seconds 0-60 mph time with a 15.00 seconds 1/4 mile time at 95.34 mph.
• After Stage 1 ECU tune (with no other changes): 5.45 seconds 0-60 mph time with a 13.90 seconds 1/4 mile time at 98.25 mph.

Tuning Cable Rental and Purchase Options

The ECU and TCU tunes are downloaded by you through the Custom Code online server that requires renting or purchasing one of our tuning cables. It costs $30 to rent a tuning cable after all the steps of the rental program are completed or $150 to purchase a tuning cable. The tuning cable rental program consists of a $150 core deposit plus shipping costs initially. Then after the tuning cable is shipped back in good condition within seven business days from initially arriving then $120 of the core deposit will be refunded. If there are any issues with downloading the tunes caused by Oakes Performance Solutions or Custom Code like a server update or file revision then that time delay will not be held against the customer.
